I have Pneumonia. Is that even how you spell it? I seriously feel like I've been hit by a truck. My whole body aches. On top of that, my asthma is out of control. I have been taking breathing treatments twice a day. My toungue has felt like I ate 10 bags of sour patch kids for 3 days now. It stings so bad! I think it's a result of all the breathing treatments and antibiotics I've been on. About a week and a half ago, I went to the local doc-in-a-box for my asthma. I had a chest x-ray done and they found a spot near my heart. Of course, like anyone else I was terrified and immediately thought of the worse! Boo and my mom calmed me down. A couple days later, they called me to tell me it was pneumonia and they called in a bunch of meds for me. Well, long story short, the meds made it better for about a day and then my cough continued to get worse, I started to get fevers, chills, and am tired ALL-THE-TIME! I am not one to immediately go to the doctor so I tried to tough it out but last night I caved in. I went once again to the doc-in-a-box and had another x-ray done. Once again, the spot near my heat showed up, however this time it was bigger. The doc said it had swelled because of all the coughing and because I have not been resting. Well, a little about me, I have always been a night owl, but in the last few years I think I have just developed insomnia. Boo doesn't understand how I can go on 3-6 hours of sleep. I can be deadly tired but when I lay down, I cannot fall asleep and if I do, it's so light that any little noise wakes me up. Lunesta has been the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I still do not get the recommended 8 hours of sleep. So, bottom line, the doc said I needed to rest. He recommended that I take off today thru Wednesday and just sleep. This is where the problem comes in... I work for a small law firm, literally, there's only 4 people + the attorney. Now don't get me wrong, I love working for my boss! He is a great teacher and extremely down to earth considering he's a lawyer. However, when it comes to taking days off, he's made it extremely uncomfortable to ask. He makes you feel guilty like you're making the whole office fail for the day. So here I am today, at work with a work excuse for three days in my purse. Boo is irritated with me because he knows I should be at home. To make matters worse, the doc says I have to come back next weekend and if there is no positive change with my illness, I will most likely be admitted!!! I'm really hoping my co-workers don't get upset with me cause' I have an "oscar the grouch" mood today! As I'm writing this I'm slowly convincing myself to show my boss the work excuse. Ugh, don't you hate when you get stuck in a situation and you don't know what to do??????
And by the way... Katie, I PROMISE I'm gonna do my blog award post!!!! :)
Hope y'all didn't mind my ramblin' today! I don't really have much to share about this weekend because all I pretty much did was lay around.
Happy Monday! Only 4 more days till the weekend!!!

You poor thing! Pneumonia is just awful, we have a handful of pneumonia patients at all times. Drink lots of fluids and yes, get plenty of rest. Even if you're not sleeping, just taking it easy is best! Hope you make a speedy recovery girl!
ReplyDeleteOh Nikki I feel so bad for you! Why is it that if you are really sick and want to call in people make you feel guilty for doing it! I truly hope you feel better. If you can't sleep at least lay on the couch or in bed! Just rent some movies or read a book! Will be thinking about you today! (Do the blog award only when you feel better ;) xoxo!
